The Hiwassee River has its headwaters in northern Georgia. It flows northward into North Carolina before turning to the west and rolling into Tennessee where it meets up with the  Tennessee River.  While this river is popular for whitewater rafting, canoeing, and kayaking, Fly fishing is also popular. Pisgah National Forest is a National Forest located in the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina. This beautiful forest unlike the Smokeys is completely contained in North Carolina.
